Patience and the ability to stick to a routine are required for housetraining. Most puppies respond well to a schedule because it allows them to become accustomed to performing the same thing at the same time every day, making it easier for them to acquire the desired behaviour.
You must first establish your puppy's ability to contain his urine for an extended period of time. Keep a notebook for a few days until you notice a trend between eating and eliminating. This will offer you the puppy's comfort zone in 15-30 minutes. This is the amount of time he can hold his urine after going potty.
After they eat, drink, play, or sleep, the puppy will typically need to go. Most dogs need to be taken out three to five times per day, assuming they haven't consumed too much water. If you take him for a walk, the best thing to do is not bring him back until he has gone pee. Prepare to remain outside till he goes. It's possible that this will take some time. If you bring him back inside before he's ready, he'll almost certainly have an accident before you can get him out again.
The most important thing is to heap praise on him whenever he exhibits appropriate behaviour. Because he gets attention and a treat, this reinforces it. It will be ineffective if you wait and praise him afterwards. Close entrances to rooms with carpeting or rugs to restrict him from discovering spots, as they prefer certain areas to eliminate on.
If the puppy has an accident, apply a pet odour neutralizer to keep the odour at bay. They will occasionally sniff around until they find the exact same location where they went the last time. Use ammonia-based cleaners sparingly since they degrade into urea, which is a component of urine.
